In a series of moves Spotify said will help podcasters on its platform better monetize their content, the company on Monday announced plans to debut a new advertising network and add a subscription podcast feature that producers will be able to opt into. TED has gotten into the curation business. It has launched the TED Audio Collective, a network of podcasts that it says is a home for the series co-developed by TED and its featured speakers as well as shows developed and produced by producers it says are “inspiring thinkers and creators” independent from the TED family.

Pod Digital Media has released an app featuring shows hosted by Black, Latino, Asian and other podcasters of color. With the new app podcasters may now access listenership rate, demographics, when and from where they are listening.
The podcast hosting platforms Buzzsprout are Spreaker are mostly back to normal, but they have told users that they were the targets of distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks. Buzzsprout company said it initially thought it was having problems with one of its servers on Sunday, but soon realized it was under attack.
